Lowewood Museum seeks a Fundraising Lead Trustee to champion fundraising at Board level to help secure the long-term future of a thriving community Museum.

Lowewood Museum Trust CIO is a community-focused Hertfordshire heritage charity preserving local stories through collections, exhibitions and outreach, while driving growth, innovation and engagement through major heritage projects. With a collection of more than 40,000 items, a record of success with major funders and a strong volunteer and stakeholder network, Lowewood Museum combines a proud local legacy with a forward-looking outlook.

We are seeking an ambitious and well-connected Fundraising Lead Trustee to help shape the next phase of the Museum's development and sustainability. As one of four new Board appointments, the Fundraising Lead Trustee will help grow income, strengthen external relationships, and support the Museum's long-term sustainability. Working alongside fellow trustees, staff and volunteers, you will champion fundraising at a strategic level, helping to identify opportunities for grants, sponsorship, donations and partnerships.

This role would suit someone with successful fundraising experience, leadership skills and a passion for helping organisations grow. Whether your background is in trusts and foundations, corporate partnerships, community fundraising, philanthropy or business development, your expertise can make a tangible difference.

We welcome applications from local people including the Museum’s dedicated volunteers and people facing discrimination, including racialised, LGBTQ+, and disabled communities. We aim to build a balanced Board with diverse experience.

Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements to serve as a charity Trustee.

Our recruitment pack is available on our website. To apply, please complete an application form outlining how you fit the role and why you are interested in being considered as Fundraising Lead Trustee of Lowewood Museum.

Deadline for applications: 9 am on Tuesday 17 November 2026.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview on Tuesday 1st December 2026.

We welcome applications from all backgrounds and will consider reasonable adjustments to support accessibility. Contact us if you need adjustments or an informal conversation before applying. Please note the upper galleries are stair access only. Accessible toilets are on the ground floor, and assistance animals are welcome.

All Trustees and Volunteers are ambassadors for Lowewood Museum. We expect everyone to support our vision, follow policies that ensure safety and fairness, and treat others with respect.

This is a voluntary role and does not constitute paid employment or a legal contract.

Thank you for your interest in becoming Fundraising Lead Trustee at Lowewood Museum.
