Summary

We're running no-strings 'taster sessions', looking for volunteers to staff the Shed - come along, get a feel for the place & see if you'd enjoy a regular role.

Detailed description

Right now we're looking for two types of people to join the Shed - general volunteers and maintenance volunteers.

General volunteers greet people, check out items that borrowers have booked for pick up, complete memberships, and explain the concept/ join-up and borrowing systems. If you're interested in sharing more as a community, and enjoy working with people, we'd love to hear from you.

We also need 'Maintenance volunteers' to look after our stock of items. Libraries of things are built on people who have experience working with tools/ appliances and feel confident about maintaining a wide range of tools, appliances and equipment. If you're a bit handy and like the idea of sharing your skills with the community, we'd love to hear from you.

Get in touch and book a couple of no commitment sessions at the Shed to get a sense of who we are, what we're about, and whether you'd like to continue on a regular basis.

Getting there

We're at 69 Leys Avenue, the lower end towards the park.

About Letchworth Garden Shed

We're a team of locals who, after loads of work, set up a library of things in town last year so we can share more as a community. At the LGS, people can borrow a whole range of items (gardening tools, kitchen gadgets, kit for parties and camping, DIY equipment....) for a small fee instead of buying it themselves. Good for people, good for the community, good for the planet.
