Love local history? Interested in the Garden City movement? We’re looking for volunteers to give tours of our upcoming exhibition this Autumn.

Love local history? Interested in the Garden City movement? We’re looking for volunteers to give tours of our upcoming exhibition this Autumn.


As a Volunteer Tour Guide, you’ll be the friendly face that welcomes visitors of all ages and you’ll be key to engaging visitors with our upcoming exhibition. You’ll guide visitors through the artworks and tell the story of Letchworth Garden City’s unique heritage. We’ll provide full training so don’t worry if you’re not already a local history expert!


Dates for your diary:

-            30th September – Group interview

-            24th October – Tour guide training


The impact you’ll have

You’ll be helping visitors to learn about the history of Letchworth and to engage with local art and culture. You’ll also be helping to raise vital funds for the Broadway Gallery so it can continue to survive and thrive.


What you will be doing

·      Welcoming visitors and speaking to them about the artworks

·      Guiding groups of up to 20 through the exhibition

·      Answering any questions from visitors

·      Serving refreshments to visitors

·      Helping to set up for tours and refreshments

·      Helping to tell the story of Letchworth Garden City


This role is for you if you’re:

·      Confident speaking to groups of people

·      Eager to learn and share your knowledge

·      Friendly, polite, good with people

·      Proactive and happy to work unsupervised

·      Passionate about art, culture and history

·      Happy to complete the necessary training

·      Able to follow health and safety procedures
