ASSISTANT BOOKINGS CLERK ROLE - FLEXIBLE HOURS

ROLE

We are looking for a volunteer or volunteers to assist our current volunteer bookings clerk to manage the hall diary and bookings. The role involves monitoring and administering the on-line booking system, including ensuring the electronic calendar of events is kept up to date, responding to email or phone booking enquiries (which can all be done from home or virtually), with the option of showing prospective hirers around the hall and providing them with clear information on the hiring. On site meeting times can be arranged to suit you.

TRAINING

All training on the online booking system and the hiring policies and procedures will be given as well as the optional meet and greet role and you will have the full support of the existing team to refer to.

WHAT VOLUNTEERS NEED

If you have a few hours a week, have access to a home computer and the internet, are IT literate, enthusiastic and organised please come and join our team to help support this fantastic community facility. It is not essential that you live in the village of Hunsdon but it would be preferable if applicants lived within a reasonable travel time of the hall.

WHAT YOU MIGHT GAIN

The village hall is a thriving community centre with lots going on. It has a very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere which makes it a great place to work. You will meet lots of new people and experience new and sometime unusual activities. You will be working as part of a small friendly team who look after the hall on a day to day basis with the possibility to develop new friendships within the village. You will also be able to improve your IT and social skills particularly with the meet and greet element of the role.

ABOUT HUNSDON VILLAGE HALL

Set in the picturesque and historic village of Hunsdon in East Hertfordshire, Hunsdon Village Hall is located at the centre of the village of Hunsdon and at the heart of the community.

The hall serves the local and surrounding communities as a function venue, meeting place and activity centre. As well as the original characterful listed building which comprises the hall and stage, there is an annex extension with a meeting room, doctors consulting room and modern facilities including accessible toilets. The kitchen has modern catering facilities . All facilities are maintained to high standards. 

The hall also has a lovely self-contained part paved, part grassed garden that is tended by volunteers from the Hunsdon Gardening Club.
