Volunteer with Herts Welcomes Refugees and the Refugee Council in delivering their local Community Hubs for local refugees.

Volunteers will have the opportunity to work with the Refugee Council in delivering their local Community Hubs. The Community Hubs will often consist of ESOL lessons and drop-in services run by Refugee Council staff and their partner organisations, which need assistance in their delivery.

Specifically, the volunteer role may include:

  • Accompanying refugees to and from the Community Hubs if they struggle with directions.
  • Assisting with activities for the children attending with their parents.
  • Assisting tutor with delivery of ESOL classes by taking part in informal conversation practise.

Locations:

Hertford

Herts Welcomes Refugees will arrange for volunteers to undertake an enhanced DBS check as part of the enrolment process. Ongoing support and training is given to volunteers by Herts Welcomes Refugees. This is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on people living in the local community.

Most of the sessions are in the morning but please contact us for exact times.
