Area Conveners play a key role in supporting volunteers, developing local activities for refugees.
Area Conveners play a key role in supporting volunteers, developing local activities for refugees and asylum seekers, and acting as a link between their area and the charity's Management Group.
Activities may include welcoming and supporting volunteers, helping to organise local projects and events, building relationships with community organisations and local councils, representing HWR at meetings and events, and contributing to the charity's planning and decision-making.
This role would suit someone who is organised, proactive, a good communicator, and passionate about supporting refugees and asylum seekers.
The role is shared between two or more people and offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in your local community while developing leadership, networking, and coordination skills.
Herts Welcomes Refugees will arrange for volunteers to undertake an enhanced DBS check as part of the enrolment process. Ongoing support and training is given to volunteers by Herts Welcomes Refugees. This is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on people living in the local community.
We particularly need volunteers for this role in Hertford, Hatfield, Hertsmere, North Herts, St Albans, Stevenage and Welwyn Garden City.
