Summary

Our new Treasurer will support HDSF as a Trustee with a range of skills and experience, and with their specialist financial skills.

Detailed description

As we enter a period of change, the role of Treasurer is vital to the Board to support our development over the coming years into a larger, more complex and more efficient organisation. As part of our Board, we will rely on your financial knowledge and expertise to support and drive changes to our internal processes and procedures but also to play a full part as a Trustee in achieving all of our strategic goals.

With a background in finance, you will have the ability to communicate and clearly explain financial information to non-finance Board members. You will have experience of charity accounting, of working with the charity SORP and a knowledge of financial accounting and reporting procedures. You will have relevant accountancy qualifications or experience, and evidence of strategic financial planning skills.

Your previous experience will have evidence of integrity and good, independent judgement; including analytical and evaluation skills  You must be well organised, able to keep records, careful when handling money and cheques, scrupulously honest, able to answer questions in meetings, confident handling figures, providing sound strategic guidance, governance and leadership to help drive HDSF forward.

Please apply by sending your CV and a covering letter to Sine Bates.

About Herts Disability Sports Foundation (HDSF)

HDSF is a relatively young charity (established March 2014) and has developed from a one-person operation to a larger thriving organisation and employer which has experienced an enormous number of changes. Our mission is to “Provide and support opportunities in sports and physical activity that can be accessed by everyone, whether it be through participation, volunteering coaching or education in a supportive and non-judgmental environment.” Rather unexpectedly, the Pandemic afforded us a unique opportunity to quickly change and adapt our delivery methods and services – we were perfectly placed to use this challenge to diversify and grow as an organisation.
