Summary

A volunteer for Health Walks can serve as a leader of a group walk or a supporter who walks at the back and ensures walkers are happy with the pace.

Detailed description

Herts Health Walks is a countywide programme of free walks - led by volunteers accredited by Ramblers UK. Our volunteers help everyone become happier and healthier by walking together outside. We have 75 walks on offer and a team of more than 200 trained volunteers who support people who have more difficulties than others participating in physical activity get moving and exploring their local green spaces. .

Volunteer once a week or once a month - its up to you! Most leaders volunteer up to 4 hours/month. For more details visit


You will receive

Wellbeing Walk qualification following your free Leadership training. Our next training is on the 25th September 2024 in Potters Bar.

Clothing and equipment

Support from the Hertfordshire Health Walks Team


You will gain a sense of satisfaction of watching someone improve their walking ability and be able to walk further and faster. "We have a great group of leaders and walkers at Bushey and all feel the benefit of our health walks. Another bonus from these walks are the little invisible support groups who offer help or sympathy where needed."
