Treasurer for the Hertfordshire Gardens Trust.

The Treasurer will work with all members of the team to maintain transparency, accountability and financial sustainability, ensuring proper financial records are kept and that effective financial procedures and controls are in place and submitting the annual returns. The Treasurer will have oversight of all the Trusts’ bank accounts.  You will attend regular meetings between 6 and 8 times a year and the AGM, to present regular financial reports summarising the financial position and performance of the Charity. 

It is expected that the work will take approximately 2-3 hours per week, but this may vary dependent on workload at the time. As part of the hours, it is expected that the Treasurer will attend most meetings, to keep up to date with developments and update the committee and Trustees on financial matters. This means devoting the necessary time and effort to prepare for meetings where necessary. The Treasurer is also required to liaise with the Membership Secretary regarding receipt of membership renewals, ensuring reconciliation of membership numbers.  Making annual Gift Aid reclaims, if appropriate. There are also opportunities to use your professional experience by joining one of our sub-committees to shape our strategy, for example on grants and bursaries.
