Are you ready for an adventure? Join our team as a regular Yard Helper Volunteer and immerse yourself in the world of horses while making a real difference in people’s lives. This role is vital in ensuring our horses are happy, healthy, and ready to provide unforgettable experiences for our riders.
Responsibilities:
- Dive into the daily care of our wonderful horses, including feeding, grooming, and mucking out stables
- Get hands-on by preparing horses for their riding sessions
- Keep our yard sparkling clean and safe
- Be a hero for our riders by supporting them during sessions, ensuring their safety and comfort
- Embrace a variety of general yard duties and be ready for anything!
Requirements:
- A genuine love for horses and a passion for helping others
- Experience with horses and yard work
- Team spirit and the ability to follow instructions
- Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to regular volunteering hours
- Minimum age requirement: 16 years old

About Gaddesden Place Riding for the Disabled
Gaddesden Place is a dedicated RDA centre offering anyone with additional needs and disabilities the opportunity to participate in a range of equine based activities.
At Gaddesden Place RDA Centre we aim to enhance the lives of disabled children and adults through horse riding and equine therapies. We work with a range of individuals including those with:
- cerebral palsy
- autism & ADHD
- learning difficulties
- sight and hearing impairments
- global developmental delay
Our RDA qualified coaches work with each rider, developing a programme of therapeutic activities based on individual needs, with the focus on the RDA principle:
“It’s what you can do that counts”
