We visit several care homes in the WGC area monthly or fortnightly, in small teams. Each home has a different pattern of visit .
A visit may consist in having tea and cake and chatting with residents, perhaps with a singsong or a quiz. Or there may be a singing session with percussion instruments.
One to one visits are possible with residents who do not leave their room .
We are open to offers of less regular, or even one off, visits from people who would like to sing or play for the residents or run a specific activity.
As many residents have a degree of dementia, we encourage visitors to become dementia friends. We also run a session on how to have a good visit and to familiarise visitors with our policies.
