Gardening-related maintenance of a Victorian cemetery and wildlife haven.
The Friends of Hitchin Cemetery help maintain the oldest part of the cemetery according to the details given in the council's five year Greenspace Action Plan and supported by the Countryside Management service who provide training, equipment, guidance and third party insurance. Activities are usually gardening-based covering weeding, pruning and hedge cutting, looking after wildlife areas and helping the public find graves. There are opportunities to help with historical research and with guided tours in the summer months.
