A lovely opportunity to spend a day with our Driver taking and collecting donations around Hertfordshire and Essex.
Role Description – Volunteer Driving Assistant
Why we need you:
We are looking for a fantastic Volunteer to help Essex & Herts Air Ambulance by helping our van driver.
What will you be doing?
- Based at our Donation Centre in Stevenage under our Donation Centre Manager
- Assisting our driver when picking up donations of stock and moving stock between our Donation Centre and shops
- Ability to drive our vehicles an advantage
- Full, clean driving license
- Understanding the Charity’s key standards and Values
- Becoming familiar with our Health and Safety Policies and being able to convey these to other Volunteers
- Working in a a clean and tidy way which encourages a happy environment to work in
- Commitment to helping to fill our rota on a regular basis
- Giving any other assistance in relation to the smooth running of the Donation Centre as may requested by the Donation Centre Manager.

- Passionate about Essex and Herts Air Ambulance
- Outgoing and happy personality
- Warm, friendly and have an enthusiastic and welcoming manner
- Be well-organised and want to make the most from a volunteer role
- As this role is specific to some physical duties, a good health is required.
How much time will you need to commit?
We fit ourselves around you. However you will need to commit to a number of hours at one time to ensure time is available to move stock between our shops in Herts and Essex.
Where will I be based?
Stevenage.
Who will you be reporting to?
You will be helping and reporting to the Donation Centre Manager.
Training & Support Offered:
- You will receive full training on all aspects of this role, including lifting, Health and Safety, Emergency Procedure training and Basic Customer Care skills. With ongoing training as required
- You will receive regular updates relating to our retail shops
- You will be supported by the Donation Centre Manager and Volunteer Team
- EHAAT volunteer ID badge and uniform
