Summary
Can you give up some time on Friday 21st or Saturday 22nd November to help with the smooth running of this key fundraising event?Detailed description
The DENS Sponsored Sleepout returns to Hemel Hempstead on Friday 21st November, at Hammond Academy. Come together with your friends, family or colleagues and give up your bed for one cold winter night to help local people facing homelessness. Take on a challenge like no other and experience an action-packed evening full of entertainment and community spirit.
During the evening on Friday the 21st, we will need lots of support in helping with the smooth running of the event, within registration, to assist with activities, and to help those sleeping out to build their beds..
Every penny raised at the DENS Sponsored Sleepout will help local individuals and families facing homelessness, poverty and social exclusion.
Whether serving refreshments, helping with registration, or clearing up the next morning, there is a role for everyone.
Roles include:
•Event set up (Friday PM)
•Registration support (Friday Eve)
•Event village support- helping with activities, serving refreshments and building beds (Friday Eve)
•Event take down (Saturday AM)
There will be opportunities to volunteer for various time slots throughout the evening and the following morning, so please let us know what works best for you.

We ensure individuals have access to temporary and short-term accommodation, and individuals and families have access to emergency food and provisions. We provide a range of services so that people can develop the resilience, skills and confidence to take the next step in their lives.
We rebuild lives.
We provide a range of integrated services, which together form a pathway to support people towards an independent future. Our services include:
Outreach - Working with local rough sleepers to build trust and offer access to any services needed – with a focus on bringing people off the streets and into safe, stable accommodation.
Day Centre - A community-based setting, providing immediate expert advice, where anyone is welcome to drop in, have a shower, a hot meal and some clean clothes, all within a safe space.
The Elms - A 44-bed hostel providing emergency and short-term accommodation to single, homeless adults.
Crash Pad - Emergency overnight accommodation offered to people during severe cold weather, or when we are unable to accommodate them immediately at The Elms.
Move On - Providing support for The Elms residents into more independent living in shared accommodation.
Resettlement - Supporting clients moving from The Elms or Move On into council, social housing or private rental.
Therapy Centre - In-house therapy support on a one-to-one or group basis to help clients process past trauma.
Employability and Social Enterprises - Empowering people to build their confidence and self-worth whilst improving their employment prospects. We also offer opportunities to develop relevant skills through training and work experience, including at our social enterprises, The Bike Project and The Kitchen Café.
Foodbank - Providing emergency food parcels and household provisions to local individuals and families facing poverty.
In the Community - Supporting people in the community during this cost of living crisis and helping reduce the need for the Foodbank.
