Summary

Learning Volunteers bring Museum specimens into our galleries and exhibitions to support visitors of all ages to investigate the natural world.

Detailed description

Develop your confidence, skills and knowledge to interact with our visitors through a range of hands-on learning activities.

Learning Volunteers bring Museum specimens into our galleries and exhibitions to support visitors of all ages to investigate the natural world and create unforgettable experiences.

You will use real specimens in our handling collection from animal skulls to insects to share your knowledge with school groups and the public.

The programme includes training on how to engage with visitors and handle specimens. You will also help to shape the future of the programme, collaborating in developing new activities.

You will engage with families, adults and school children, delivering hands on activities, and answering questions.

If you have a passion for natural history, are friendly, approachable and enjoy talking to children and adult visitors, have an interest in helping others to learn, and are willing to be flexible, and can work as part of a team, please get in touch.
