Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield is a charity that provides free, impartial, confidential, and independent advice to our local community.
We aim to help clients find a way forward whatever the problems they are facing.
We target assisting approximately 6000 clients a year with their issues including, benefits, housing, debt, cost-of-living, employment, energy relationships etc.
Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield have an established board of trustees that operate in a professional, collaborative, and supportive manner
We are looking to enhance our board of trustees by adding a small number of people that have time to commit, to ensure the continued effective running and planning of the future direction of our organization.
We are looking for people with skills in a variety of areas including leadership, fund raising, finance, teamwork, community support, and with time available to contribute to an organization that has an excellent track record of assisting the people in our local community.
We are looking for candidates motivated to make positive impact, and specifically:
¨ want to help the community where they study, live or work
¨ believe in social justice and want to help change things for the better
¨ may have experience of running a small business and/or have knowledge and skills gained from work/personal life that they would be willing to contribute
¨ want to get involved in running an influential and important charity
People from all backgrounds are welcomed, and we aspire to have a diverse board that reflects our clients and communities.
Experience of using, working in or volunteering with Citizens Advice is not essential.
We offer a full induction program, and will provide training and ongoing support. At a minimum you will need to contribute a few hours a month, and attend four evening meetings a year, plus occasional other meetings. However, we would be delighted to hear from people that can also give sufficient time to help us progress projects that move us forward.
These are volunteer roles but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed. The roles will provide you with a great deal of experience, satisfaction, the opportunity to develop your skills and utilise your expertise and knowledge.

Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield is an independent charity governed by its own board of trustees. We're supported by a range of funders, staff and trained volunteers, without whom we wouldn't be able to offer the quality service that we do today.
