We have an established board of trustees and are now seeking to replace our current chair as he comes to the end of his term of office.Detailed description
Our board operate in a professional, collaborative, and supportive manner and we are looking for someone with these qualities to make a positive impact on our organisation.
In addition, you should be someone with skills in leadership, governance, teamwork, setting strategic direction and managing meetings, who has the time and commitment to ensure the continued effective running and planning of the future direction of Citizens Advice.
You will be expected to:
¨ want to help the community where they study, live or work
¨ believe in social justice and want to help change things for the better
¨ want to get involved in leading an influential and important local charity
¨ provide support to our CEO
You are likely to have experience of leading a team within a charity or business, and/or have knowledge and skills gained from work/personal life that you will be willing to contribute.
People from all backgrounds are welcomed, and we aspire to have a diverse board that reflects our clients and communities.
Experience of using, working in or volunteering with Citizens Advice is not essential but desirable.
We offer a full induction program, handover, and will provide training and support. At a minimum you will need to contribute a few hours a month, attend eight meetings a year, plus occasional other meetings. However, we would be delighted to hear from people that can also give sufficient time to help us progress projects as we move forward.
This is a volunteer role but all reasonable expenses are reimbursed. The role will provide a successful candidate with extensive experience, satisfaction, the opportunity to develop skills and utilise their expertise and knowledge, to the benefit of a Charity making a meaningful difference in the community.
