Working with the Energy Adviser to help clients struggling with energy costs

We’ re looking for someone to:

·     Join our Energy Adviser to help with the running of Citizens Advice Broxbourne’s Energy Advice service

·     Spend 4-6 hours per week working as an admin assistant, which we can arrange to suit your circumstances

·     Arrange call backs and appointments for our clients with our Energy Adviser

·     Work with volunteers and staff to work with clients in our local community

 

What will you do?

·     Help with the day-to-day running of the Energy Advice project

·     Talk to clients and make appointments for Energy Advice

·     Undertake call backs and gather information for our Energy Adviser

·     Attend local fairs with the Energy Adviser to promote Energy Advice

·     Distribute Energy Advice leaflets to local centres such as libraries, surgeries, doctors’ surgeries, etc

·     Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice and training for your role

What do you need to have?

 

You don’t need any specific qualifications, but you will need to:

·     Be friendly and approachable

·     Respect views, values and cultures that are different to your own

·     Have good IT skills

. Be over 18 yrs of age

·     Have good listening, verbal and written skills

·     Be willing to learn about and follow the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality and data protection

 

How much time do you need to give?

 

Ideally we ask for 4-6 hours per week, which can be over one day or spread over two days, for at least 12 months. We can be flexible so come and talk to us.
