Today we will be scrub bashing to create a new welcoming habitat for the Duke of Burgundy butterfly.
Today we will be scrub bashing to create a new welcoming habitat for the Duke of Burgundy butterfly.
By doing this we will be helping to restore the open, sunlit conditions that chalk grassland depends on. This will give wildflowers the opportunity to flourish, bringing colour and diversity.
The wildflowers will provide vital nectar and pollen for butterflies, bees, and other pollinators. We especially hope that the Duke of Burgundy will visit this habitat.

About Chiltern Rangers
Here at Chiltern Rangers, our mission is to enhance the Chilterns’ habitats through conservation, education and community engagement.
We work with local communities to provide habitat management in Buckinghamshire and the Chilterns. You will find us in the woodlands, chalk grasslands, commons, ponds and chalk streams. We also manage 13 nature reserves for Buckinghamshire Council.
Our work can only be achieved with the help of our volunteers – people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, plus community organisations, charities, social enterprises, schools & colleges.
