Could you use your family mediation experience to make a positive difference to separated parents and their children?

We are looking for an experienced and compassionate volunteer to provide occasional support to parents who use our Child Contact Centre. Some parents may benefit from having an impartial, experienced person help them explore ways of communicating more positively and constructively for the benefit of their children.

This is a flexible, occasional role. Our Contact Centre operates on the first and third Saturday of each month, but you would only be asked to attend when mediation support is needed and when you are available.

We are looking for someone who:

    • Has experience or training in family mediation
    • Is a good listener and communicates calmly and sensitively
    • Can remain impartial and non-judgemental
    • Understands the challenges families can face following separation
    • Is committed to supporting children and families

DBS

As the role involves working in a child contact setting, an Enhanced DBS for the Child Workforce is required. We can arrange this through our national organisation, NACCC, at no cost to the volunteer, or we can accept a suitable existing DBS certificate registered on the DBS Update Service, subject to the necessary checks.

Sessions: First and third Saturdays of each month by arrangement when required.

If you have family mediation experience and would like to use your skills to support separated families, we would love to hear from you.
