Saturdays & Sundays, 10am - 4pm - Welcome visitors to our Prehistory Centre. Share history, support shop & activities. Flexible weekends.
Support the day-to-day running of the Prehistory Centre by welcoming visitors, sharing insights about our collection, and ensuring our visitors are engaged. As a Visitor Experience Volunteer, you’ll play a vital role in bringing history to life for our guests.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and engage with visitors to create a memorable experience
- Provide information about the Stone to Iron Age exhibition, Prehistory Centre layout, and educational purpose
- Maintain a tidy, accessible, and welcoming environment within the Centre
- Take money for shop purchases
- Assist with events and activities hosted within the Prehistory Centre
- Ensure the safety and security of our visitors and the collection
- Support other duties in line with day-to-day visitor operations
- Support with resource preparation for activities
- Chance to step into the role of an Iron Age villager
Person Profile We’re looking for someone who is:
- Passionate about history, education, and engaging with the public
- Friendly, confident, and enjoys speaking with people from all walks of life
- Organised and proactive in keeping spaces presentable
- Reliable and adaptable to the needs of the day
- Able to travel to our woodland site in Brickendon
