Community Alliance Broxbourne & East Herts are looking for a volunteer to help out in our Hubs across East Herts & Broxbourne.
Reporting to: Community Alliance for Broxbourne and East Herts staff member
Purpose of the role: : The key role of the Healthy Hub Volunteer is to welcome and assist clients attending the building, Health & Wellbeing opportunities and Stop Smoking services. All training will be provided.
Main duties either virtually or in person are to:
- Welcome clients and partners to the buildings for Healthy Hub activities and other organised events
- Listen to the needs of Hub users and signpost them to relevant local services
- Promote job opportunities and local events and activities.
- Assist with record keeping, planning of sessions and providing support to community events.
- Promote Healthy Hub activities in the community
- Encourage positive community engagement
- Listen sensitively and maintain confidentiality at all times
Person Specification:
- Friendly, approachable and compassionate manner
- Good communication and listening skills
- Reliable, organised and willing to learn
- Respect for confidentiality and diversity
- An interest in Health, Wellbeing and supporting others in disadvantaged communities
Safeguarding: All staff and volunteers are expected to follow safeguarding, health and safety and confidentiality policies. A DBS check may be required depending on the nature of the role.
Induction: All volunteers will be given a full induction when starting work within their building. Regular supervision meetings will also take place to ensure that the volunteer and line manager are happy with the work and its environment.

- Old mobility shop, Navigation House, Riverside, Bishop Stortford, CM23 3AS (Thursday)
- 34, Christian Close, Hoddesdon, EN11 9FF (Third Tuesday of the month)
- Community Hub, Pavilion Shopping Centre, Waltham Cross, EN8 7BW (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday)
