Come and join our friendly Community Car Scheme Team to help vulnerable clients get to their essential appointments and back. Make a real practical difference!

Detailed description

Our friendly team of Community Car Scheme drivers help increase mobility and independence especially for vulnerable, elderly and less mobile residents of East Herts and Broxbourne. They offer practical support, friendly company and a safe journey to and from their essential appointments.


Could you be one of them? You would be taking clients from their homes to their essential appointments and back, using your own vehicle and accompanying them at the destination if necessary. You will be reimbursed with 50p/mile.


We are looking for Volunteer Drivers with the following qualities:

• Safe and experienced driver

• Clean driving license

• Access to a vehicle insured for voluntary purposes

• Comply with legal standards (insurance, tax, MOT)

• Enjoy working with elderly, disabled and impaired clients

• Patience and empathy

• Some light lifting, e.g. of mobility aids, may be required

• Friendly and service-oriented


This is a very flexible role with no minimum time commitment. We offer regular training and support. You will be making a huge difference in our clients life.
