This role is to assist the Project Officer for Capital Works. To review issues relating to the Rights of Way network that have been reported as needing attention or to inspect completed works. You would collect a CRoW vehicle from either County Hall in Hertford or Farnham House in Stevenage and drive it to the site(s), as agreed in advance.
The CRoW fleet comprises of 3 pick-ups, a large van, 2 small vans and a car. A level of driving confidence and a full UK driving licence will be required for this role.
An induction to the vehicles will be given.
During the site visits you will have the option to either visit the location with the Project Officer or remain with the vehicle. The site visits are to check on new issues, such as bridges or potential resurfacing of footpaths, or recently completed contractor works where they need to be checked, signed off, or defects identified. There is an opportunity to aid, measure up and learn about design and construction of capital works on public rights of way. No prior knowledge is necessary, though it would be welcomed.
You will be supported through every stage by your CRoW contact.
