We are seeking ad-hoc fundraising support and new fundraising team members, especially those with PR or event/project management experience.Detailed description
CRUW is the official local volunteer fundraising team for Cancer Research UK in the Ware & Hertford region. We're a small friendly team averaging 6-8 members, from all walks of life. We are an official extension of the charity, although staffed by volunteers.
We seek to raise money for the charity through a wide range of activities, from staging dance events, fashion shows, quiz nights, collections outside supermarkets to managing a pool of collecting goblets in retail outlets in our area.
We're seeking help to increase our fundraising capacity and would value support on two fronts: -
- Ad-hoc support with storefront collections at local supermarkets, garden centres etc. If you're able to give the occasional couple of hours, typically at weekends, then we would love to hear from you.
- Official team members, to help stage fundraising events and publicise the group's activities. People with some basic event management or project management experience and others with PR or journalism experience would be very welcome for these roles. Also, people with good contacts in specific communities that might work with us to help stage fundraisers (eg. schools or large companies with a local presence, such as GSK) would be especially welcome.
