Detailed description
Enthusiastic volunteers are needed to help at a social club for older people in the Berkhamsted area.
We are looking for bright and cheery volunteers to help-out at our weekly Young at Herts Club where older people get together for a variety of activities.
Our clients engage in a diverse range of activities including Quizzes, Bingo and Board Games, Craft-making, Guest Speakers as well as entertainment.
What would be involved?
- Chatting and listening to our clients as they attend their weekly Lunch Club
- Making tea/coffee and helping to set up and clear the room
- Encouraging members to join in with the activities such as playing board games, singing or listening to a guest speaker
- Supporting our Club Supervisors
- Socialising and having fun
What days are available?
Thursdays – Douglas Gardens in Berkhamsted, HP4 3PE
The club runs from 10am - 2pm and volunteers would be needed between 9.30am - 2.30pm. Alternatively, if you can't attend all day and are free from 12pm, help is always needed to serve lunches.
If you think you can help welcome our clients with a cheerful smile, assist other volunteers with serving teas and coffees and help with activities and enjoy socialising, then this is the role for you.
All volunteers must be over the age of 18 and are recruited subject to references and a clear enhanced DBS. Training will be provided
