Help create a more inclusive, accessible and age-friendly Hertfordshire by championing positive ageing in your community.
As an Age-Friendly Ambassador, you'll help champion positive ageing and support our vision of making Hertfordshire a great place to grow older.
There is no minimum commitment and no expectation to attend every event or activity. Ambassadors can get involved in ways that suit their interests, skills and availability.
Whether you want to share information online, attend local events, represent the programme in your community or simply help spread the word, every contribution makes a difference.
What You Might Do
As an Ambassador, you could:
- Share Age Friendly: Live Better Hertfordshire news, campaigns and opportunities with your networks.
- Attend local events, forums or community activities.
- Help promote positive attitudes towards ageing and challenge ageism.
- Encourage others to get involved in age-friendly activities and initiatives.
- Provide feedback on issues affecting older people in your community.
- Support the development of age-friendly projects and ideas.
- Signpost people to useful services, activities and opportunities.
- Champion age-friendly principles within your workplace, organisation or community group.
We welcome people from all backgrounds and ages who:
- Are passionate about improving life for older people.
- Care about creating inclusive and connected communities.
- Are enthusiastic about supporting local communities.
- Want to make a positive difference in Hertfordshire.
No previous experience is required
By becoming an Age-Friendly Ambassador, you'll have the opportunity to:
- Make a meaningful difference in your community.
- Meet like-minded people from across Hertfordshire.
- Learn more about age-friendly approaches and healthy ageing.
- Develop confidence, knowledge and connections.
- Help shape the future of Age Friendly: Live Better Hertfordshire.
You decide how much or how little time you can offer. There is no minimum commitment and opportunities to get involved will be shared regularly.
You'll receive:
- An Age-Friendly Ambassador welcome pack.
- Training opportunities
- Updates on local activities and opportunities.
- Access to events, forums and networking opportunities.
- Ongoing support from the Age Friendly: Live Better Hertfordshire team.
