Volunteers for information desk, answering enquiries in person or by telephone
Volunteers are needed to join our happy team: greeting clients, answering enquiries in person or by phone.
Many of our clients are elderly and we look for volunteers who can offer a friendly welcome and help them with a wide-variety of enquiries.
The role is desk-based, and our location in the Indoor Market is fully accessible for physical disabilities. We give out information; hire mobility scooters/wheelchairs, take bookings for on-site Footcare Clinic; make bookings for free Benefits Advice and Computer Training. . We are open on Wednesdays to Fridays, 9.30am to 3pm; and on Saturday mornings. We also host a coffee morning on Mondays in the Town Centre. After training, our volunteers are needed to commit to either a morning or afternoon, either weekly or fortnightly basis. Volunteers are encouraged to attend our monthly meetings on Tuesday mornings, in the town centre.
Computer skills are a bonus but not necessary.
