Summary
We seek people with significant electrical skills to help us maintain our canal boats and base. The role would involve practical work on both mains and batteryDetailed description
As a charity run completely by volunteers, we would like help from very practical people in maintaining our 3 canal boats and the whole of our site. We are particularly interested to hear from people who have practical electrical skills gained as a tradesman or engineer. The work involves problem solving and maintenance of both mains and battery circuits. Familiarisation with current wiring standards would be useful, but not essential. Experience of boats or marine circuits is not necessary and guidance is always available.
Tools are provided for those who need them.
We gather each Wednesday from 10.00 am until sometime after 2.00 pm. A snack is provided during the morning and drinks are available at all times. There is a good sense of camaraderie within the maintenance team.
The extent of your commitment would be to suit you and all practical work or expertise is appreciated.
If you are interested in this enjoyable and varied role, please fill in the volunteer expression of interest form on our website. Go to the volunteer page then choose the 'express interest' from the drop down menu. You will be contacted and may be invited to visit our Nash Mills base for an informal discussion. We look forward to hearing from you.
