What is the Big Help Out?

The objective of The Big Help Out is to raise awareness of volunteering throughout the UK and provide opportunities for people to experience volunteering and make a difference in their communities.

This is not a profit making or fundraising initiative.

It takes place annually, this year between 7 - 9 June, which also coincides with the 40th Anniversary of Volunteers Week!

To celebrate, we are hosting a large Volunteer Fair in Hitchin Market Place on Friday 7 June, from 10am - 4pm. There will be around 30 local charities attending the fair, talking to people about how they can get involved and make a difference in Hertfordshire

How to get involved

Volunteers

Whether you want to help out once, on a regular basis or from home, our volunteering platform has roles for everyone! Search for a role or use the filters to find that one role that suits you perfectly.

To get involved, you can find opportunities on The Big Help Out or find something right here:

Organisations

Is your GoVolHerts profile up-to-date? Are all your latest volunteering opportunities published?

Make sure you login and check all your details. Don't forget you can also promote and share your opportunities and events on social media for volunteers week!

You can also find resources for your event on The Big Help Out page.
