The role
- To support and assist the staff team and volunteers on digital and IT matters.
- To support the Citizens Advice Broxbourne service in the maintenance of their IT infrastructure.
What will you do?
General
- Complete an introduction to Citizens Advice
- Have a broad understanding of the IT requirements of the local service and the solutions available
- Be a point of reference for the Advice Service Manager in their work to support staff and volunteers with day-to-day IT issues, set-up of their desk and/or IT equipment, support with G Suite and local website
- Help other colleagues to make sure that the local Citizens Advice is compliant with the General Data Protection Regulation
IT Support and Training
- Establish and maintain IT reference materials and work procedures
- Assist on all installation and modification of hardware and software
- Arrange disposal of old IT equipment
- Assist on keeping the anti-virus software up to date across the network
- Assist on creating guides and instructions for complex IT tasks, and develop IT training materials
- Assist and/or deliver one-to-one or group training about using particular software, such as Microsoft spreadsheets or G Suite
Health and Safety
- Advise the ASM and/or CEO in the performance of their Health and Safety responsibilities
Personal and Professional Development
- Attend courses and meetings as agreed
- Keep up to date on latest IT developments
- Keep up to date with National Citizens Advice IT Strategy
- Keep up to date with policies and procedures relevant to Citizens Advice Broxbourne’s work and undertake relevant training within guidelines issued by Citizens Advice
Person specification
Knowledge of:
- Management and use of G Suite in a non-profit environment
- Windows PC and laptop hardware and peripherals
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Diagnostic tools and online monitoring software
Ability to:
- be friendly, patient and approachable, and able to communicate clearly and concisely verbally and in writing regarding technical or non-technical subjects
- develop training materials
- support and train staff and volunteers on an individual or group basis and feedback to Training Lead progress
- understand and operate within the Citizens Advice aims, principles and policies, including confidentiality, data protection and equality and diversity
