Summary

If you're passionate about gardening or wanting to support a local charity who works with children on the Autistic Spectrum, look no more.

Detailed description

We are looking for people to help SEN children engage with horticulture – improving the local environment, tackling local issues and create a safe spaces that are a source of pride for people of all ages.

You must have a love for gardening, have patience and understanding. The ability to relate to SEN children and a love for working outdoors.

The Community Garden Volunteer will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the community garden. This includes planting, watering, weeding, and general upkeep of the garden. The Volunteer will also be responsible for supporting the Manager or other higher ups in organizing and facilitating community events and activities related to the garden. Additionally, the Volunteer may be required to work with young people who visit the garden, including engaging them in garden-related activities and providing support and guidance as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist with the planting, watering, weeding, and general upkeep of the community garden.

Maintain garden tools and equipment, including cleaning and storing them properly.

Assist with the setup and clean-up of community events and activities related to the garden.

Potential Kids is an award winning charity based in Welwyn/Hatfield providing learning, social and sports opportunities to Neurodiverse children / young people (Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, Tourette Syndrome amongst other conditions), their siblings and families.
We offer after-school and weekend activity sessions for neurodiverse young people. These are kept small enough in numbers to reduce social anxieties and fears.
